I. c. i. Add a single layer

Here you will only add one layer to the blank canvas and see what a single layer is about.
In this exercise, you will:
  • Use the standard toolbar.
  • Navigate a file system.
  • Add an external data layer.

    1. Left Click the “Add Data” button in the “Standard” toolbar

    2. Navigate to the downloaded “GIS_Layers” folder and select a layer to open by left clicking it

    3. Press “Add”
(Note: The layer is now added to the ArcGIS view and is shown in the box entitled “Layers” with a checkmark in the box to the left of the layer name, signifying that the layer is shown in the map view)
