III. c. Rename the layers – Example of “Crash_ADT_2004_Merge_Me” layer

The layer names may be too long or not the way we wanted, we can rename the layer to our convenience
This exercise will help you:

- Deselect the “All_Crashes_04-06_Interstates” layer
- [Left] Click the “Add Data” button on the Standard tool bar
- Add the “Crash_ADT_2004_Merge_Me.shp” from the “Crash_ADT_Shapefiles” folder
- Right click“Crash_ADT_2004_Merge_Me” layer
- [Left] Click on “Properties”
- [Left] Click on the “General” tab on the Layer Properties dialog
- In the layers name enter “All_Crashes_04-06”
- [Left] Click “OK”
